Shannon and Jen Carr operate Little Bitterroot River Simmental, consisting of 485 acres in the Little Bitterroot Valley of Montana. The operation is split between hay production and the cattle operation. We both grew up inolved in the Simmental cattle business including participating in 4H, livestock judging and AJSA. We currently run seventy head of purebred and percentage females. We have the philosophy that it starts with the cow. We focus on females with excellent feet, udders and longevity. We believe that a moderate sized female that can maximize the birth to weaning spread and stay productive for years brings the most value to both commercial and seedstock producers. Genetic testing is incorporated into our breeding decisions to ensure that our cattle also possess the carcass traits to produce cattle that will excel in every aspect of the beef industry.
We are members of the Bulls of the Big Sky sale and the bulls sell the third Monday in February.
